Your Living room.

While decorating my living room recently I came across many a top tips for getting the most out of your living room, so for those of reading this who are about to start work on a living room I hope you will find these useful.

The first thing to do before starting your living room is to decide the purpose of the room. Will you mainly be using it for entertaining and social occasions if so the plan to arrange your furniture facing into the centre of the room. If will be used as the room were your family spend most of there time make sure you choose furniture to fit with your family. So often people pick furniture that although looks very nice is not practical.

If you have a small living room there are a few things you can do to maximise your space. Try to streamline your furniture and fixtures, entertainment centre are a great way of doing this not only does it create a stylish place to keep your TV but will give you extra shelves, with some entertainment centres you will have the options to hide you tv etc with doors/shutters. some will also double as great focal point. Another way tp maximise your space is to choose furniture with hidden storage for example a chest coffee table will go nicely in the centre of the room but will have a large storage area to hide all bits and pieces.

When putting up family photos always choose an alcove or plain wall and arrange the frames in a simple pattern. The most common arrangement is four frames in a square altough simple will create a nice feature for your room.

My final tip is a simple one but still important, make sure you organise everything and create a place for everything. This is possibly the most important thing to do as it will not matter how you decorate or arrange everything else without organising everything the room will just look cluttered.
